VT-RP

Virtualization Technology with Redirected Protection (VT-rp) is a security feature included in certain Intel processors that helps protect against certain types of malware attacks. It is a hardware-based security feature that provides an additional layer of protection for virtualized environments.

VT-rp works by redirecting sensitive virtualization-related operations, such as VMX transitions and MSR accesses, to a protected virtualization management structure called the Virtual Machine Control Structure (VMCS). This helps to prevent unauthorized or malicious software from directly accessing or manipulating critical virtualization-related resources.

VT-rp helps to improve the security and isolation of virtualized environments by preventing unauthorized access to critical resources and protecting against potential malware attacks that may attempt to exploit vulnerabilities in the virtualization layer. This enhances the overall security of virtualized environments and helps ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data and processes running in virtual machines.
