HTTP Status Code

HTTP status codes are a standardized set of codes that web servers use to communicate the status of HTTP requests and responses to clients, such as web browsers or other software applications.

Whenever a client makes a request to a web server, the server responds with an HTTP status code to indicate the success or failure of the request. There are many different status codes, each with a specific meaning and use case.

The status codes are grouped into five classes, each of which represents a different category of response:

- 1xx Informational

- 2xx Success

- 3xx Redirection

- 4xx Client Error

- 5xx Server Error

Some examples of common HTTP status codes include:

- 200 OK: The request was successful, and the server has returned the requested data.

- 404 Not Found: The server was unable to find the requested resource.

- 500 Internal Server Error: The server encountered an unexpected error and was unable to fulfill the request.

HTTP status codes are an important part of the HTTP protocol and are used by web developers and Server Administrators to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with web applications and services.
